Taking measurements

When it comes to sizing, at Blue Collar I don’t use the “cap scales” because I have found that they vary from brand to brand. So to fix this problem and give you a truly custom cap that is going to fit the way you want it to I use 2 measurements that you pull. These measurements will get you that truly custom fit cap made just for you.

Things you need:

  • Sewing tape  OR

  • Regular tape measure

  • Marker

  • A piece of string, rope, shoelace, or duct tape folded sticky side together.

ALL MEASUREMENTS NEED TO BE TO THE NEAREST 1/8TH INCH

1. The 1st measurement I need is going to be a circumference of your head wherever you want the band to sit. Just run the string around your head like you would wear the band of the cap. If you want it behind the ear or over the ear make sure to lay the tape or string accordingly. Try not to pull too tight or too loose. This number should be in the 20s range.

2. The 2nd measurement you’re going to measure depth. Take the piece of string and put it on your left ear where you want the band to sit and run it over the top of your head  down your right ear where you want the band to sit. This number should be in the 12-17.5 inch range

!! IMPORTANT !!

Make sure you watch the tension of the string because if you pull too tight then the band will be too short and it will not fit right to give you headaches and if its too loose it will not fit correctly. This is so so important to let that string lay with the same tension as you want the cap. If you don’t measure the exact way I have explained and the cap does not fit properly I WILL NOT honor my warranty. However, if there is a flaw in the cap or if you did measure right and it still does not fit and you contact me about it immediately, it is an error on my end and I will fix it or replace it. Please contact me for any questions or concerns!
